Philadelphia 76ers big man Paul Reed continues trying to find consistency on the floor. Some nights he is terrific, as against the Miami Heat to begin this road trip. Then there are other nights he struggles as against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.
Reed picked up three fouls in 4:42 of playing time in the first half in the 133-126 loss to the Mavs. That limited his effectiveness on the floor, and coach Doc Rivers turned to Montrezl Harrell late in the first half before Joel Embiic re-entered.
Reed continues to deal with foul trouble. On Friday, he took to Twitter to call for an explanation from the officials. He added he wants to understand what he has to do to avoid fouls and not lose minutes.
I understand referees are human and make mistakes… aint nobody perfect im just asking so I can know what I need to do differently so ion lose my minutes https://t.co/MOjQcu6P8b

Reed must continue to grow as a player and not be so reckless on the floor. However, some fouls he gets called for seem more based on reputation than the actual play. It will be interesting to see if he continues to learn from his mistakes.
