Hall of Fame Boston Celtics champion forward Paul Pierce has been in and out of the NBA media sphere with his career choices — and the things triggering changes in them — getting quite a bit of press over the last few months.
After his decision to share video footage of himself gambling with exotic dancers in early April of this year, Pierce and his employer at the time — sports media entertainment giant ESPN of Bristol, Connecticut — decided to mutually part ways. Speculation abounded as to the motive of the former Celtics star’s decisions surrounding the exit from ESPN, even including the possibility he’d been hoping to be let go to embark on a new career related to legal cannabis ventures.
Without a definitive statement from the 2008 NBA Champion, fans and the media alike were left with their speculation, and now it seems the plot may be growing thicker.
