New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is confident about making the roster, as the dog days of training camp heat up.
Boutte was part of the Patriots’ wide receiver group last season. He had a limited role and recorded only two catches for 19 yards in five games as a rookie.
Now, the organization has upgraded the wide receiver room, bringing in veteran K.J. Osborn, as well as rookies Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker. The room has undergone a significant makeover in comparison to last season.
Nevertheless, Boutte is determined to make an impact, and he feels confident in his abilities.
“I feel like we’re all fighting for a job, but there’s not a doubt in my mind that I’m gonna make the team. You know, I feel like I’m doing everything that I’m supposed to make the team,” said Boutte, via the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan.
It will be interesting to see where Boutte falls in the wide receiver room. There is much more depth now, although some of it is unproven.
This could be his opportunity to stand out.
