Patriots WR Ja’Lynn Polk comments on first NFL touchdown reception

This was a veteran response from a rookie wide receiver

New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk was excited to get the first touchdown of his NFL career on Sunday, but he is more concerned about the team losing at home to the Seattle Seahawks.

Polk caught a five-yard pass in the back of the end zone for a touchdown, giving the Patriots an early lead in the first quarter. Overall, it was a rough day for the receivers with Polk leading the room with two catches for 12 yards and a touchdown.

“It felt pretty cool. It was a cool experience in Gillette,” Polk said, via MassLive’s Karen Guregian. “But you know, I’m not too much worried about it. We didn’t get the win.”

Polk’s involvement in the offense could be key in the Patriots adding to their win column.

As it stands right now, the wide receivers are not factoring into the game plan. Even still, it’s hard to deny the former University of Washington star has a ton of potential.
