The doom and gloom on the injury front for the New England Patriots was alleviated a bit with a surprising return to Friday’s practice, ahead of their Week 9 meeting with the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Wide receiver DeVante Parker, who went down with a head injury last week in the loss to the Miami Dolphins, was back on the field in the media portion of practice, along with offensive tackle Trent Brown, who had a noticeable limp in the locker room after the game.
Unfortunately, Parker was listed as a non-participant and ruled out against the Commanders. However, the Patriots received more positive news in relation to Brown, who gutted things out last week, despite dealing with ankle and knee issues.
He was a limited participant and listed as questionable for the game.
While the Patriots had 10 players listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, the Commanders only had one questionable and two ruled out on their injury report. Here’s the full report for both teams on Friday:

A win wouldn’t necessarily save the Patriots’ season, but it would get them back on the right track ahead of a winnable stretch of games coming up on the schedule.
Health could play a major role. If Brown is out for the game, along with Parker, it’s going to heap a ton of pressure on younger players to step up in big roles for the team.
