Patriots Week 4 injury report: Battered OL gets good news vs. 49ers

The Patriots released their final injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the 49ers

The New England Patriots have ruled out three players ahead of Sunday’s road trip to Levi’s Stadium to take on the San Francisco 49ers.

Cornerback Alex Austin, guard Michael Jordan and tackle Vederian Lowe will be out for the Week 4 matchup. More could join them if any of the four questionable players aren’t able to go.

Anfernee Jennings, Jonathan Jones, Sidy Sow and Caedan Wallace are all questionable with injuries.

Wallace being questionable is the biggest concern because it would force the Patriots to start their fourth different left tackle this season. The team would have to turn to second-year tackle Demontrey Jacobs in hopes that he can help fill the void against one of the NFL’s scariest pass-rushing teams.

The good news for the Patriots is Sow potentially playing in his first game of the season. A combination of Sow and Layden Robinson on the interior could give the offensive front the push it needs to sustain a strong rushing attack in this matchup.
