Patriots Week 1 injury report: One starter ruled out vs Bengals

The Patriots will be down a starter in Sunday’s game

The New England Patriots released their final injury report on Friday, ahead of Sunday’s Week 1 regular season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.

As expected and feared, starting offensive guard Sidy Sow was ruled out after missing multiple practices with an ankle injury. Meanwhile, running back Antonio Gibson, offensive tackle Vederian Low and linebacker Joshua Uche are listed as questionable to play.

Sow not being in the lineup puts even more pressure on the Patriots’ offensive line. The unit has dealt with injuries and talent issues throughout training camp. They’ll now be tasked with filling Sow’s spot at guard, while still playing musical chairs at left tackle.

The good news is Hunter Henry, Oshane Ximines, Anfernee Jennings, Jonathan Jones, Deatrich Wise Jr. and Christian Elliss have all been removed from the injury report.

This game will be all about overcoming adversity for a Patriots team expected to finish the season with one of the league’s worst records. They have a good enough defense to give them a chance to change that narrative starting on Sunday against the Bengals.
