Patriots sign UDFA kicker Quinn Nordin

New England added a third kicker to their competition.

The New England Patriots have signed former Michigan Wolverines kicker Quinn Nordin as an undrafted rookie free agent. Nordin took to Twitter to make the announcement on Wednesday.

Nordin will join Patriots kickers Nick Folk and Roberto Aguayo in a competition for the starting job.

Nordin spent five years at Michigan, and went 42 of his 58 on field-goal attempts over four seasons (72.4 percent). His play was erratic enough that he didn’t get selected in the 2021 NFL draft, in which one kicker, Florida’s Evan McPherson, went. During the 2020 season, Nordin hit 2 of 5 field goals attempts with three consecutive misses in the Wolverine’s triple-overtime win over Rutgers.

He’ll have a tough time beating out Folk, the starter for the last two seasons.
