New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty may have given a clue as to how the Patriots offense is going to be run in 2024.
He indicated that the Patriots are going to run a lot of screen passes in Alex Van Pelt’s offensive scheme.
Hasty was claimed off waivers by the organization last November. He previously spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers. Now, he is looking to make a role for himself as the No. 3 running back on the roster.
“With my size, give me space and let’s go,” Hasty told media members.
JaMycal Hasty, who is making a push to be RB3, says OC Alex Van Pelt has emphasized that he wants the Patriots to be the best screen team in the NFL.

The style of offense certainly makes a lot of sense, as New England looks to lean on their rushing attack while potentially ushering in a rookie quarterback in the latter part of the season.
On top of that, receiving backs have historically always been a big part of the Patriots offense. James White and Danny Woodhead are two prime examples of pass-catching backs that have found success in New England.
Van Pelt’s offensive schemes will be key to unlocking a unit facing more questions than answers ahead of the 2024 season.
