As New England Patriots training camp continues, quarterback Cam Newton is getting good reviews from quarterbacks coach Jedd Fisch.
Fisch has been particularly impressed with Newton’s work ethic, as the former Carolina Panthers star aims to prove himself in New England. As the season opener draws closer, the quarterback competition will begin to heat up even more. With Jarrett Stidham suffering a leg injury on Friday, this may give Newton more of an opportunity to shine.
So far, it sounds like Newton is focused and ready to go. The fact that it seems like he is able to run the offense is also a positive.
Jedd Fisch on Cam Newton (via @TheGregHillShow): "The best reflection of his work ethic – we're not even at 4 weeks yet where he's come into the building – is that he's able to function and run the offense. That's reflective of how hard he's worked to get there."

As the Patriots look for stability, Newton may be able to offer exactly that. Although positive reports from practice are encouraging, how he does in real time will ultimately tell the tale.
