Patriots’ James White wishes son happy birthday with touching Instagram post

James White brought everything home with an emotional social media post wishing his son happy birthday.

It has been a brutal couple of days for New England Patriots running back James White. He was with the team in Seattle when he learned his father was fatally injured and his mother critically hurt in a car accident in Florida.

The 59-year-old police captain was a passenger in a Volkswagen Passat being driven by his wife, Lisa White, when it was broadsided by a Subaru. The 32-year-old driver of the Subaru also had to be rescued from his car after the engine compartment caught on fire.

James White put together a touching Instagram post as a tribute to his late dad and 1-year-old son Xzavier. The photos are side-by-side of White with his dad and James with his son

The caption says it all: Happy 1st birthday Xzavier! I hope I can be as good of a father to you as my father was to my brother and I! I still can’t quite process everything that’s going on right now but when I look at you, you give me life! May you Rest In Peace Dad, we miss you much already. ❤️
