Patriots injured G Sidy Sow shares positive update on health

This is good news for the Patriots’ offensive line

New England Patriots left guard Sidy Sow is recovering well from the ankle injury he sustained in the preseason finale against the Washington Commanders.

Per the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, Sow indicated that walking around on the injury was “not really an issue.” His current status as he sees it is “day-to-day.”

Sow also admitted he was initially concerned that it was an Achilles injury. However, he knew he had avoided a major injury once he realized his Achilles was still intact.

There is still no timetable on when he will return to action. His presence would clearly be a big boost to the offensive line.

Sow was a key part of the positional group last season. He appeared in 15 games and was a mainstay on an offensive line that struggled throughout the year.

The Patriots open their 2024 season on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. That leaves some additional time for Sow to heal. A return in Week 1 would obviously be a best-case scenario for the team.
