New England Patriots corner Christian Gonzalez did not make the Pro Bowl, despite having a stellar season. The second-year defensive back didn’t waste any time reacting to the news on social media with a single laughing emoji.
It makes sense considering he shadowed some of the best receivers in the league with great success. The defense in New England as a whole had a rough season, but Gonzalez consistently played at a high level for the team.
He has tallied 50 tackles, 11 pass deflections and two interceptions on the year. He even received high praise from Miami Dolphins All-Pro receiver Tyreek Hill.

It would be fair to say that the cornerback position is extremely deep in the AFC, which ultimately led to a great player like Gonzalez being left out. Nevertheless, Gonzalez is clearly deserving of the honor as one of the few bright spots for a struggling Patriots defense.
