Patriots cancel the third and final practice for minicamp

Amid a heavy rainstorm, Bill Belichick decided to cancel practice.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick decided to cancel the third and final day of mandatory minicamp after a substantial rainstorm blew in earlier than expected. New England attempted to reschedule the practice for the morning before the rain. But the storm came early and the team decided not to hold the session.

New England practiced on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Patriots have two remaining sessions of voluntary organized team activities scheduled for June 13 and 14. The June 13 practice will be open for the media to watch, barring cancellation. While it’s abnormal for Belichick to cancel minicamp, the coach has a tendency to cancel the OTA sessions at the end of the schedule.
