For the third straight week, Cam Newton threw for less than 120 yards.
While playing an overwhelming defense with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14, Newton began the game with a pick-six. He wasn’t able to recover as he finished the contest throwing 9-for-16 for 119 yards and an interception. The Rams knew every move Newton was going to make and the offense became predictable because of the inability to rush.
All of this led to some playing time for Jarrett Stidham, who entered the game for Newton in the fourth quarter. Stidham had a fourth quarter appearance last week because of a 45-0 blowout, but now this could be a permanent decision following the poor performance by Newton.
Jarrett Stidham enters the game with 10:12 remaining in the fourth quarter, and the Patriots trailing 24-3.
Cam Newton: 9-of-16 for 119 yards, 1 INT; 7 rushes for 16 yards.

With playoff hopes out the window, the possibility is real that Stidham starts the rest of the season.
