Even after a heartbreaking loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots didn’t drop significantly in ESPN’s latest power rankings.
The Patriots were sitting at No. 24 in the rankings last week after their upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the season opener. The loss to the Seahawks on Sunday dropped them only one spot to No. 25.
They faced a Seahawks team that made the playoffs last season and took them into deep waters in a 23-20 overtime loss.
Up next, they have a chance to get their first divisional win of the season as they take on the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football. This could be a chance for the Patriots to get back on track and find a bit more balance on the offensive side of the ball.
Coach Jerod Mayo has already commented on the state of the offensive line and how the unit needed to step up. They will face arguably their toughest matchup so far this season against the Jets’ defense.
Putting points on the board is a must when going head-to-head with a division rival led by Super Bowl-winning quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
