Patrick Peterson anticipates being added to Cardinals Ring of Honor

A comment on Instagram suggests perhaps the plans are already in place.

The Arizona Cardinals said goodbye to cornerback Patrick Peterson after 10 seasons, eight Pro Bowls and three All-Pro seasons. He left in free agency, signing a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

And while Peterson will be back at State Farm Stadium this season when the Cardinals and Vikings face each other in 2021, Peterson anticipates being back on the field in the future for a ceremony.

In a response to a comment on a sponsored Instagram post by a Cardinals fan, Peterson suggests there are plans for him to be wearing a Cardinals jersey once again.

He replied:

We had an amazing run! Plus the plan is to be wearing an AZ Jersey once again down the line at a ceremony if you catch my drift haha.

Peterson is one of the greatest defensive players the Cardinals have had. His play declined over the last couple of seasons but he appears to have left on good terms.

One day, after his career is through, he will be back on the field at State Farm Stadium to wear No. 21 and see his name immortalized in the Ring of Honor.

And it is also entirely possible that he will do what former Cardinals safety and Ring of Honor member Adrian Wilson did — sign a one-day contract to be able to retire as a member of the Cardinals.
