“The Match” is officially underway, but ahead of the game, some friendly fire trash-talking took place.
Speaking to J.J. Watt during Bleacher Report’s Hot Seat Press Conference, Patrick Mahomes was asked to answer a tricky question about his teammate Josh Allen. He was asked to name Allen’s biggest fear, and after a few moments of deep thought, Mahomes came up with the perfect answer.
“Josh’s biggest fear . . . A coin toss,” Mahomes said.
The joke, of course, refers to the Kansas City Chiefs’ AFC divisional-round win over the Buffalo Bills and Allen, during which the Chiefs tied the game with 13 seconds remaining to force overtime. Kansas City would win the coin toss in overtime and advance to the AFC title game without Allen touching the ball.
I’m not sure that Allen is too worried about overtime anymore. During the offseason, the NFL actually decided to change the overtime rules during the playoffs to ensure that both teams have an offensive possession.
