Patrick Mahomes curiously liked a tweet about the Broncos breaking the Chiefs’ offense

Patrick Mahomes is keeping all the receipts right now. That’s terrifying.

With Patrick Mahomes as their starting quarterback, the Kansas City Chiefs have never quite struggled like they are right now. While trying to defend their Super Bowl 57 title, the Chiefs have now lost four of their last six games. Their defense might appear to be elite, but Mahomes’ offense has failed to gain any meaningful traction that would feel championship-caliber.

No wonder the superstar quarterback went off on a correct offensive offsides call to the officials, to Josh Allen, and to the media. He probably understands that, at least for right now, the Chiefs’ offense doesn’t have the juice to repeat. But Mahomes remains a super competitive professional athlete.

And he seems to be taking receipts about anyone doubting him or the Chiefs right now. At least, according to his (since-deleted) Twitter likes:

Look, the Broncos deserve some credit for overcoming Mahomes and the Chiefs this year. Even before Denver beat its AFC West rival in Week 8, the Broncos had held Mahomes to a paltry 19 points in the team’s Week 6 meeting. So, they did seem to have Mahomes’ number, even if that reality feels extremely temporary.

But to say the Broncos were the ones who showed the world what these Chiefs are is a little outlandish. With an incompetent receiving corps, the Chiefs’ issues would have always come to light sooner rather than later. And to write the Chiefs off now, with the best player in the sport, would be even sillier.

Watch out, NFL. Mahomes sees what you’re saying about him and his team. If you’re an opposing defense, that’s never a good sign.
