Patrick Mahomes had been waiting much of his life for the moment, and on Sunday, it came true.
The Kansas City Chiefs overcame a 10-point, fourth quarter deficit in Sunday’s 31-20 Super Bowl 54 win over the 49ers. Mahomes shook off a slow start to the game and put together an MVP performance to bring Kansas City its first title in 50 years.
With the Super Bowl MVP honor, Mahomes got to experience the very thing he imagined in a tweet from 2013. He got to be the Super Bowl-winning quarterback who announced during the postgame celebration that he’s going to Disney World. This was what Mahomes tweeted as a high schooler seven years ago, wondering about that moment:
I bet it feels amazing to be the quarterback who says "I'm going to Disney World" after winning the Super Bowl #Qbs

Fast forward to Sunday night, Mahomes was ready for it.

It’ll be a trip that he’s waited a long time for.
