PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to get off the schneid when they play host to the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. The Sixers have lost three games in a row while dealing with injuries to a number of players, including Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris.
Embiid will miss his third consecutive game against the Kings due to left knee inflammation. Philadelphia is 2-7 on the season when the big fella doesn’t play, and the Sixers will have a challenge against Sacramento.
Coach Nick Nurse has done a great job of keeping the team focused and, even amid this three-game losing skid, the Sixers are feeling confident with his guidance.
“You never want to lose a game as a player and as a coach, but he as a form of motivating and inspiring each individual,” said Patrick Beverley. “Obviously, his voice hasn’t been the quietest the last couple of days, but it’s necessary. It’s necessary. We’re practicing extremely hard and competing. It’s all part of basketball. So fortunate to have a coach like that.”
To get back in the win column, Beverley looks to help the Sixers following a tough road loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
“We lost some competitive games,” Beverley finished. “Obviously, without our main guy. We put up 130-something points, you know, lost in overtime. Can’t be really mad at that. So just come out here, new start, get the chance to play in front of our home crowd and it’s gonna be energetic. It’s gonna be fun.”
