Patrick Beverley is down $30,000 because he justifiably ripped the Clippers

Pat Bev just received a dumb fine by the NBA.

Patrick Beverley had a lot to say about his former Los Angeles Clippers team after Tuesday night’s NBA play-in game. Now he’ll have to pay for them.

Beverley’s rant against a team that he feels wronged him but letting him go, was certainly earned after his Minnesota Timberwolves sent them to the brink of a elimination, but he’ll have to fork over a little extra for saying things like:

“Weak a** Clippers.”

“Take they a** home. Long flight to LA. Take y’all a** home.”

Officially, the league is fining him for “inappropriate statements during a media interview and on social media, including the egregious use of profanity”, which also might be underselling it a bit.

A slap on the wrist would have been justifiable but a $30k fine? Seems like a bit much if you ask me.

The fine is likely worth it to Beverley, who hasn’t been afraid to explain to everyone how he felt by the Clippers’ “disrespectful” contract extension offer to him last offseason. Feathers were ruffled, business became business and Pat Bev ultimately asked to be traded, where he ended up in Memphis for a hot second before landing in Minnesota.

So Pat’s victory lap over the Clippers on Tuesday night was the ultimate revenge — the win meant a lot to him, you could see it all on his face.
