Two years ago when he played for the Houston Rockets, Russell Westbrook said the infamous quote on Patrick Beverley: “Pat Bev trick y’all, man, like he playing defense. He don’t guard nobody, man. He just running around, doing nothing.”
Two seasons later, Westbrook is struggling mightily with the Los Angeles Lakers, a fanbase that is now booing him in home games because of his inability to produce and help win alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Add the fact that Lakers head coach Frank Vogel doesn’t trust Westbrook to close out crucial games, giving the former 2017 MVP no choice but to watch from the bench.
Beverley Thursday clapped back at Westbrook, using his own words against him:
I remember when somebody said all I do is run around and I trick y’all 😂 well my boy is The Real Magician this year.

This happened with a few hours remaining before the NBA trade deadline comes to a close, with Westbrook being a hot candidate Lakers fans want to see gone.
