Pat Shurmur eager to get to work with Broncos’ offense

“We’ve got an outstanding young roster on offense,” new Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said.

Broncos coach Vic Fangio introduced new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur at an introductory press conference Thursday. The former Giants coach said he is eager to get to work with the team’s offense.

“I really look forward to working with [president of football operations/general manager] John Elway and his staff and Coach Fangio and the staff that’s in place, especially the offensive guys,” Shurmur said. “I look forward to working with the players.

“We’ve got an outstanding young roster on offense — a lot of guys that played extremely well and had an impact as rookies, some of them. I really look forward to just working and trying to have some impact on us winning football games.”

Some of the most notable young players on offense are quarterback Drew Lock, wide receiver Courtland Sutton, tight end Noah Fant, running back Phillip Lindsay and offensive lineman Dalton Risner. Shurmur will be responsible for coaching up those promising players in 2020.
