February has been a nice start for the Milwaukee Bucks, and Pat Connaughton is along for the right. The Bucks went undefeated during the past week, winning their first game at home, then beginning a lengthy road trip to the West Coast. So far, so good.
Connaughton scored six points on a pair of 3-pointers Feb. 1 against the Washington Wizards. When the Bucks headed to the opposite end of the country to begin their trip against the struggling Portland Trail Blazers on Feb. 5, Connaughton had a so-so night of a single 3-pointer to go with six rebounds and one block. When he started the second of a back-to-back against the Los Angeles Clippers, he unleashed his best scoring night in almost two months with 18 points on six 3-pointers and also had five rebounds.
That scoring barrage in L.A. bumped up Connaughton’s scoring average for the week to 9.0 points a game while shooting 42.9 percent from the field. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds.
