If there’s anything an NBA player ideally would like to have on the stats sheet, it’s points and more points. That’s a good way to describe [autotag]Pat Connaughton[/autotag] over the past week. While not known for being a prolific scorer, he had a couple of nights that really jumped out. No doubt the Milwaukee Bucks appreciated that.
It began Jan. 3 with 11 points in a win over the Washington Wizards. The next night, Connaughton tied his season high with 15 points, all on five 3-pointers, and also grabbed six rebounds to help beat the Toronto Raptors on the road. The Bucks then lost Jan. 6 to the Charlotte Hornets, and Connaughton was held to only five points.
We have no idea if Connaughton looks at his stats for a given week, but he might be happy if he looks at this one. He averaged 10.3 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 40.7% from the field. He surely will take that and more weeks like it.
