Offensive Line: A-
Part of the reason for that ground game success and the success of Rattler and Williams was the offensive line’s play. They mauled the Catamounts defensive line for four quarters. Even in the midst of rotations of guys coming in and out, the Catamounts struggled to get penetration or truly pressure the Sooners quarterbacks. Anton Harrison looks like he may be solidifying his spot as the starter at left tackle while Tyrese Robinson put in a much better day at bright tackle.
Guys like Brey Walker, Andrew Raym, Erik Swenson, and Wanya Morris were all featured in this game. Valuable reps for guys who are still fighting for significant snaps or guys who will be the first man up in the case of injury or COVID or anything else causing players to miss time.
Wide receivers/Tight Ends: A
The pass catchers of this team had an excellent day. Star receiver Marvin Mims really didn’t have much to add to the stat sheet, but he’s proven, and opportunities aplenty are coming his way as the Sooners are looking at their first Big 12 game in two weeks. He needs help, and these first couple of games have opened the door for Jadon Haselwood, Mario Williams, Mike Woods, Brayden Willis, and Austin Stogner to find their lanes. Haselwood had only four catches, but two were for touchdowns. Mario Williams scored again and finished with four receptions for 49 yards. Mike Woods scored his first touchdown as a Sooner last night as well.
