Panthers WR Xavier Legette: ‘Training camp started slow for me’

Panthers rookie WR Xavier Legette believes his first practice of training camp wasn’t his best outing.

Carolina Panthers wideout Xavier Legette may have had a little trouble getting out of the starting gate on Wednesday.

The rookie receiver spoke with reporters following his very first outing of training camp this morning. And unfortunately, he doesn’t believe he put his best foot forward.

“Training camp started slow for me,” Legette stated. “I feel like it wasn’t my best, but we got time to continue to make a buck.”

Legette was then asked why he thought that was the case.

“I feel like I wasn’t really [attentive] to detail today,” he replied. “So I need to buy in on that for the rest of the practices.”

A hamstring tweak sidelined Legette for much of the Panthers’ spring workouts. The 32nd overall pick sat out most of organized team activities and the entirety of mandatory minicamp due to the setback.

But he assured the media that he feels like he’s back at ‘100 percent’ after taking time out with the injury.
