A lot of folks have had a lot of things to say about the Carolina Panthers and Baker Mayfield—even before Wednesday’s trade came to be. But there was one person in particular that had a few interesting comments about the marriage not too far back.
That person, of course, is Panthers wideout Robbie Anderson.
In April, the seventh-year wideout publicly displayed his displeasure for such an acquisition. Not only did he reply with a resounding “Nooooo” to an Instagram post teasing Mayfield’s move to Carolina, but he proceeded to promptly double down soon after.
Well, Anderson went back to social media today to clear up his stance on Mayfield. And as he said in mandatory minicamp, he was only trying to be a good teammate to his projected starting quarterback at the time—Sam Darnold.
I don’t have an issue with Baker stop tryna paint that narrative. pic.twitter.com/52GhVHget4

Now, Anderson will have another quarterback to defend this upcoming season—whether he really likes him or not.
