Panthers well-represented at Liberty QB Malik Willis’ pro day

Just as they did for Kenny Pickett 24 hours earlier, the Panthers sent much of the house to see Liberty QB Malik Willis on his pro day.

If the Carolina Panthers are ultimately choosing between Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis in this year’s draft, they’ll be choosing between two pretty different flavors. So, to help prevent potential uncertainty or indecisiveness over what they want to order, the team sent the house again on Tuesday.

24 hours after filing into Pittsburgh for Pickett’s pro day, the Panthers had all of their top decision-makers present to see Willis’ showcase at the Liberty University practice facility. According to Jonathan M. Alexander of The Charlotte Observer, the organization went with general manager Scott Fitterer, assistant general manager Dan Morgan, head coach Matt Rhule, offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo and vice president of football operations and longtime franchise representative Steven Drummond.

And, apparently, Coach Rhule was quite happy to be there . . .

Rhule will be even happier if Willis—the most potent quarterback prospect of this 2022 class—is a clear answer for him and his crew with the sixth overall pick. But if that gets any clearer, with the big-armed passer having absolutely ripped during his throwing drills, that sixth spot might be too late for them to even grab him.
