Panthers Week 5 injury report: Donte Jackson questionable vs. Lions

The Panthers have listed CB Donte Jackson (shoulder) as questionable for Week 5’s matchup with the Lions.

The Carolina Panthers could be down yet another starter in its secondary.

The final injury report for Week 5 listed cornerback Donte Jackson as questionable for Sunday’s matchup with the Detroit Lions. Jackson—who has made “good progress” on his shoulder injury, according to head coach Frank Reich—was a full participant in Friday’s practice.

Unsurprisingly, starting safety Xavier Woods has already been ruled out of the game. Woods, who sustained a hamstring injury in the team’s Week 3 contest against the Seattle Seahawks, is expected to miss an extended period of time due to the setback.

As was the case in last week’s defeat to the Minnesota Vikings, Sam Franklin Jr. is likely to get the nod in place of Woods. Franklin Jr. accounted for the Panthers’ only touchdown in the 21-13 loss with a franchise-record 99-yard interception return.
