Panthers Week 16 injury report: 3 defensive linemen miss first practice

Here’s how this week’s injury report is shaping up.

The Panthers defensive line was supposed to be the strongest unit on the team this year. Unfortunately, injuries have decimated the group’s depth in the middle. This week, it’s more of the same as three DL missed the first practice on Wednesday.

Here’s how this week’s injury report is shaping up.

Player Injury Wed Thu Fri Status
DE Mario Addison Shoulder DNP
DE Marquis Haynes Knee DNP
DT Gerald McCoy Knee DNP
RB Reggie Bonnafon Illness DNP
RB Christian McCaffrey Rest DNP
OL Garrett McGhin Ankle DNP
S Eric Reid Shoulder DNP
LB Shaq Thompson Ankle DNP
TE Greg Olsen Concussion Full

McCoy has been resting on Wednesdays since early in the season, so that’s nothing to worry about. Addison and Haynes will be two names we monitor for the rest of the week.

Expect Reid, Thompson and McCaffrey to return to practice tomorrow if they follow the same routines they have lately.

Olsen has cleared the concussion protocol so he should play Sunday.
