After practice, coach Matt Rhule told the media that he expects Bridgewater to play Sunday against Minnesota. He’s not expecting McCaffrey to, though.
Bridgewater is recovering from a right knee injury that has been reported as a mild MCL sprain, but Rhule has said there’s more than one thing going on with the knee. He was close to starting against the Lions. However, Bridgewater was placed on the inactives list at the last minute.
Meanwhile, McCaffrey has an AC joint injury in his shoulder. Assuming he is ruled out, the Panthers will again look to Mike Davis at running back. He has filled in well for No. 22 this season, totaling 754 yards and five touchdowns from scrimmage.
Donte Jackson has had a lingering toe injury since Week 1 which has slowed him down. The team finally rested him last week. Rookies Troy Pride Jr. and Stantley Thomas-Oliver split his snaps.
