Two days and two (almost) entirely clean bills of health for the Carolina Panthers. Not a bad start to the 2021 season, huh?
As was the case on Wednesday, wide receiver Shi Smith was the only player of the active 53-man roster listed on the Week 1 injury report. The rookie is still working back from a shoulder injury he sustained in the preseason finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Once again, Smith was off to the side working the stationary bike, but did have a helmet handy this time around. He is, however, still expected to miss Sunday’s opening matchup with the New York Jets.

In another encouraging sign, safety Kenny Robinson was not included on Thursday’s report. The practice squad member was listed as a limited participant yesterday due to a knee injury.
The same goes for fellow practice squad player Rodney Smith. The running back was also noted as limited from the previous session.
