The Carolina Panthers signed another piece of their 2021 draft class early Thursday afternoon: third-round offensive lineman Brady Christensen.
Christensen is one of the more unique players drafted by Carolina this year, bringing versatility to a major position-group of need. While the 6-foot-5, 302-pound lineman was a consensus All-American protecting Zach Wilson at left tackle, Alaina Getzenberg of the Charlotte Observer recently reported that Matt Rhule has focused Christensen’s practice reps at right tackle behind Taylor Moton.
Wherever he lines up, the rookie should help to keep starting QB Sam Darnold clean this season – something that could make or break this team in 2021. Christensen accrued the second-best PFF grade by an offensive lineman in 2020 (96.0), setting a new collegiate position record.
With Christensen now on the books, the only draft pick yet to sign their deal with the team is tight end Tommy Tremble, who was also selected in the third round.
