This being 2020 (and a rebuilding year on top of it) Carolina Panthers fans have to take what pleasures they can this season. As disastrous as Sunday’s humiliating loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was, there were some small things worth celebrating. Slot cornerback Corn Elder, linebacker Shaq Thompson and wide receiver D.J. Moore all put in quality performances. Carolina also finally got some surprise production at the tight end position.
Following Thompson’s perfect peanut punch that forced a fumble on Ronald Jones II, tight end Colin Thompson scored the first touchdown of his NFL career. It also happened to be the first touch of his career. You can imagine his excitement. Today, Thompson shared a message of thanks on Twitter for everyone who has helped him along the way.
It’s has been quite the journey… I am truly a product of my family, friends, teammates, and coaches who have believed in me over the years. Thank you everyone for the kind words and let’s go @Panthers! #KeepPounding https://t.co/PBn2iny68s

Wholesome.
Thompson’s catch was just the second touchdown of the season for the Panthers tight ends. Ian Thomas has the other.
