Panthers rookie WRs Marshall Jr., Smith make slick grabs at practice

They may be rookies, but Panthers WRs Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith are out here making grown-man grabs.

For the dissenting sector of Carolina Panthers, you can keep telling yourselves that it’s just practice. But how many more times can you play that song?

Probably not much longer, as wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. put down some more fire with yet another grown-man catch. His latest hit came on Wednesday, as the Baltimore Ravens flew into town at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. for the first of two joint practices.

To be fair to Ravens cornerback Anthony Averett, the Baltimore defenders weren’t necessarily going full-boar in these one-on-one drills just yet. Regardless, the focus and ease Marshall Jr. displays on this catch is something well beyond his years.

Not to be outdone, fellow rookie wideout Shi Smith joined the highlight party as well. The sixth-rounder, who played his college ball at nearby South Carolina, just about plucks one off the helmet of safety Geno Stone downfield.

Again, it may only be practice, but these young cats are not playing around.
