If running backs don’t matter, somebody better tell the NFL. Several teams have paid their elite backs handsome contract extensions recently, including a few huge ones over the last several days for Alvin Kamara and Dalvin Cook. The biggest this year went to Christian McCaffrey of the Panthers, who has established himself as the very best at his position in the sport.
McCaffrey passed another major milestone this week, eclipsing 25 rushing touchdowns and 15 receiving touchdowns in 50 or fewer career games. He’s the second player in league history to do so.
