Panthers promote Dan Morgan to President of Football Operations/GM

The Panthers have named Dan Morgan their President of Football Operations/General Manager.

The Carolina Panthers have found their new general manager, and they didn’t have to look too far.

As announced on Monday evening, Dan Morgan has been promoted to President of Football Operations/General Manager. The former linebacker has served as the team’s assistant general manager since 2021.

Morgan’s first run in Charlotte began almost 23 years ago, when he was selected by the Panthers with the 11th overall pick of the 2001 NFL draft. In addition to being part of the franchise’s first-ever NFC championship-winning team in 2003, the University of Miami linebacker also earned a Pro Bowl nod for his 102-tackle campaign in 2004.

After retiring from the game in 2010, Morgan began his front office career as a scouting intern with the Seattle Seahawks—alongside then-area scout Scott Fitterer. He’d then earn promotions to the assistant director of pro personnel post in 2011 and the director of pro personnel post in 2015 and move on to the Buffalo Bills as their director of player personnel from 2018 to 2020.
