Panthers officially hire Brad Idzik as new OC

The Panthers have officially named Brad Idzik as their new offensive coordinator.

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales won’t be needing a new workout partner in 2024.

As officially announced by the organization on Thursday, Brad Idzik has been hired as the team’s offensive coordinator. The 32-year-old spent the 2023 campaign as the wide receivers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, alongside his then-offensive coordinator in Canales.

The relationship between Idzik and Canales began back in 2019, when the former started his career on the NFL sidelines as an assistant wide receivers coach for the Seattle Seahawks. Canales, at the time, was in his second year as Seattle’s quarterbacks coach.

Idzik served two more seasons in that role (2020 and 2022) and another as an offensive quality coach and assistant quarterbacks coach (2021).

He now steps into the position left vacant by Thomas Brown, Carolina’s offensive coordinator for the 2023 season. The Panthers, under Brown and former head coach Frank Reich, averaged the fewest yards per game in the league (265.3).
