The Carolina Panthers have done quite a bit of (collaborative) work on their roster this offseason. Nonetheless, there still are a few spots that are available to be filled.
On Saturday, following the team’s second installment of rookie minicamp, head coach Frank Reich told reporters they may fill those spots with some of this weekend’s tryout players.
Panthers HC Frank Reich after rookie minicamp: Good to finish up. Guys were locked in and focused. Says they'll probably end up signing "a couple" of the tryout guys.

The Panthers currently have 84 players under contract, with 2023 draft picks Bryce Young and Jonathan Mingo yet to ink their names on the dotted lines. So, as the offseason roster limit sits at 90, Reich and general manager Scott Fitterer have four spots to play with.
And if they so choose to pluck talent off the practice field, here’s the pool of 17 players they can take from:
No. | Player | College |
5 | QB Taylor Powell | Eastern Michigan |
16 | WR Austin Proehl | North Carolina |
18 | WR Gary Jennings | West Virginia |
19 | WR Emeka Emezie | North Carolina State |
20 | DB Montrae Braswell | Missouri State |
24 | DB J.R. Reed | Georgia |
43 | LB Marquise Blount | The Citadel |
48 | LB Travez Moore | Arizona State |
54 | LB Gavin Greene | Mississippi College |
55 | LB Ace Eley | Georgia Tech |
56 | LB Jordan Williams | Baylor |
60 | OL Derrick Kelly | Florida State |
64 | OL Dohnovan West | Arizona State |
84 | TE Nakia Griffen-Stewart | Pittsburgh |
93 | DL Zi’Yon Hill-Green | Louisiana |
98 | DL Antwuan Jackson | Ohio State |
99 | LB Jordan Thomas | Mississippi State |
Deals could begin to unfold soon, as the Panthers have wrapped up their rookie minicamp outings for the weekend.
