Panthers LB Frankie Luvu raising awareness for meaningful mission

Panthers LB Frankie Luvu is raising awareness and providing support for a cause that’s very close to his heart.

Frankie Luvu is pretty good at playing football. And he’s proving that yet again here in 2022, where he’s having an impactful campaign full of career-bests.

But when he’s making his impact, he’s making it for more than just himself and the Carolina Panthers.

The fifth-year linebacker is sponsoring a VIP Gameday Experience on Sunday, Dec. 18—when the Panthers welcome in the Pittsburgh Steelers for their Week 15 matchup. Luvu is hosting the event to raise awareness and provide support for the North Carolina chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention—whose mission rests closely to Luvu’s heart.

“Everything I do in my life going forward is to honor my brother’s life and legacy and I am so thankful for the people and for the imperative work that AFSP provides every single day to ensure that other families do not have to experience the unbearable pain and heartache that my family has endured,” Luvu said through an official release.

Luvu lost his brother to suicide in March of 2021. The AFSP works to eliminate the loss of life from suicide by delivering innovative prevention programs, educating the public about risk factors and warning signs, raising funds for research and reaching out to individuals who have been affected by suicide.
