Panthers LB Denzel Perryman says he got a speeding ticket driving to training camp

Perryman may have been a bit excited to get to work.

The Panthers added several veterans to their front-seven during free agency. While he didn’t get as much attention as Haason Reddick, Denzel Perryman might turn out to be the most crucial one. Projected as the new starting middle linebacker, he’ll be taking over a critical role for Carolina’s defense.

Perryman may have been a bit excited to get to work. He says he got a ticket for speeding on his way to Wofford for training camp this morning. Perryman says he was going 91 mph and the fine is for $350.

Perryman signed a two-year, $6 million deal with Carolina, but he still jokingly asked the recently-paid Taylor Moton for a bit of help.

During his time with the Chargers, Perryman played well but he had issues staying on the field. He’s missed 37 games in six seasons due to injuries. However, if he can stay healthy he should be an important piece defensively.
