On Sunday, most of the sports world turned their attention to the gridiron for the long-awaited week one of the 2021 NFL season. Before kickoff, one player represented Steph Curry on his way to the stadium.
When arriving at Bank of America Stadium, Carolina Panthers safety Jeremy Chinn donned Curry’s red Davidson jersey from his college days.

Along with wearing his jersey, the second-year defensive back jumped on a FaceTime call with the NBA two-time Most Valuable Player.

Curry’s pregame call provided the Panthers some good luck. Behind 187 total yards from Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers were able to survive a late comeback attempt from rookie passer Zach Wilson and the New York Jets, 19-14.
Chinn recorded four solo tackles and a pass deflection in Sunday’s win over the Jets.
Next Sunday, the Panthers will meet Jameis Winston and the New Orleans Saints in Carolina. With the NBA offseason still underway, the Golden State Warriors All-Star point guard will likely be watching.
