The Panthers could be down two starting defensive linemen on Sunday when they visit the Buccaneers.
Rookie defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos showed up on yesterday’s injury report as limited with an eye injury. Today, we got more details. Apparently Gross-Matos was poked in the eye during practice on Wednesday. He developed concussion symptoms so now he’s in the protocol.
If he can’t play this week, expect more snaps for the veteran Stephen Weatherly, who performed better Week 1 in any case.
In related news, star defensive tackle Kawann Short was limited with a foot injury after not participating in yesterday’s practice.
