The #Panthers and TE Greg Olsen have agreed to part ways. End of an era for a player who has TV options, as well as football.

According to Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, the Panthers and tight end Greg Olsen have mutually agreed to part ways.
Olsen had one year left on his contract, but he has become pretty absorbed in his next career as a TV analyst.
Combined with the cap savings the team will get from moving on without Olsen, this make sense for both sides.
The Bears traded Olsen to the Panthers in 2011 for a third-round draft pick. That became the best trade in franchise history.
For a time, Cam Newton and Olsen were one of the game’s elite QB/tight end combos, second only to Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.
This is another sad day for Carolina fans in what’s becoming a sad offseason.
