You can call him one of the best tight ends of all-time, a Carolina Panthers great and, now, an award-winning broadcaster.

On Monday night, Greg Olsen was named the recipient of the 44th Annual Sports Emmy award for Outstanding Personality as an Emerging On-Air Talent. The 38-year-old pass catcher-turned-analyst beat out four other fellow athletes—ESPN’S Andraya Carter, Eli Manning, Robert Griffin III and JJ Redick.

He also had a few words upon finding out the great news . . .

Olsen has experienced a meteoric rise as a color commentator for FOX’s NFL programming, a job he began in a full-time capacity two seasons ago. He and play-by-play partner Kevin Burkhardt were promoted to the network’s lead broadcast team for the 2022 campaign, one they capped off with an acclaimed Super Bowl LVII performance.

Prior to becoming a star in the booth, Olsen starred for the Panthers over a large part of his nine-year stint in Carolina. His 6,463 receiving yards still stands as the third-most in franchise history.
