Panthers guard Michael Schofield is one of several pending free agent offensive linemen currently on the roster. Wherever he signs his next contract, Schofield already has his foot in the door of another sport.
Yesterday, the Chicago Red Stars – a women’s soccer team in the NWSL – announced a new ownership group and Schofield is a part of it, as well as his wife Kendall Coyne Schofield, who is a pro hockey player and part of the U.S. national team. The ownership group also has some other notable names, including former Bears defensive end Israel Idonije and ESPN personality Sarah Spain.
