Panthers fans were not allowed into the stadium for Sunday’s season opener against the Raiders. Even though they couldn’t watch in person, there was plenty to talk about following a competitive game, especially the controversial decision to not give Christian McCaffrey the ball on a failed fourth down in crunch time.
Here’s what Carolina fans are saying about the Week 1 loss to Las Vegas.
Great plan
Game on the line, 4th and inches, mccaffrey in the backfield, run it with armah… great plan

Panthers remain a joke
What a great call to run friggin ALEX ARMAH over i don’t know… uh…. Christian McCaffrey. Panthers remain a joke

Blinded by stardom
I'm not going to defend the call to put Armah up the middle but Panthers fans and analysts acting like the obvious play was giving to McCaffrey are blinded by stardom, short yardage is probably the thing he's worst at. He's failed several times to get a yard or two when called on

Execution wins football games
“Give the ball to McCaffrey.”
Or the front five can execute and get up a push up front and it doesn’t matter who you hand it to.
Execution wins football games. Not play calls. #Panthers #keepounding

Take it easy
Giving the ball to a fullback on a 1/2 yard play isn’t a ridiculous play call. Take it easy. #panthers #CARvsLV

Conspiracy theories
#panthers is Rhule's decision to give the ball to Armah a sign of tanking? #conspiracytheory

Hardly inexcusable
quick message to all my #panthers fans out there, Giving the ball to your fullback on 4th and short is hardly an inexcusable play call. Should it have gone to CMC? maybe. but also you can't just give the ball to him every play.

Missing Luke Kuechly
#Panthers fans, just remember there’s maybe only one other mlb in the league that could do the job 59 did.
It was never going to be easy 😔

Can we have Cam Newton back?
Ok that was fun and all but can we have Cam back now? #Panthers

Get the defense together
We played a good game but we gotta get that defense together #Panthers

Just glad they’re back
Stinks that the @Panthers came up short today (and may have a rocky year), but insanely glad they’re back playing. Having “gamedays” to enjoy wasn’t a sure thing back in April/May. Also, just feed C-Mac. Best RB in the game. #Panthers

Tank for Trevor
If the #Panthers keep playing like they played today, and Trevor Lawrence keeps playing he did yesterday
The #TankForTrevor train is gonna get a whole lot louder.

Book a win next week
There's going to be a lot of "hot takes" about Brady not having it anymore and he's a system QB…in Week 1. Don't listen to stupid ppl.
Having said that, my #Panthers will beat the Bucs next week. Book it.
