The Carolina Panthers simply aren’t getting it done against the Miami Dolphins in Week 12. And even though they probably don’t need someone to tell them that, defensive end Brian Burns took the chance to anyway.
After allowing the Dolphins to cruise on a 13-play, 80-yard touchdown drive in the third quarter, Burns blew up on his teammates over on the sideline. The possession not only put Miami up 27-10, but it also ate up a costly seven minutes and 24 seconds of game clock.

By the end of the third quarter, the Panthers defense allowed 19 first downs and 280 yards to the Dolphins. While the blame for this embarrassing outing certainly isn’t to be placed entirely on the unit, they’ve not been crisp enough in a performance almost reminiscent of last week’s loss to the Washington Football Team.
The afternoon has also been bogged down by the discombobulated Carolina offense. Quarterback Cam Newton went into the final quarter of play having completed just five of his 21 throws for 92 yards and two interceptions.
